Recovering From Surgery

It has been one week since my surgery.  I am on my way to recovery but wish it would hurry up. As I can only stand long enough to take a shower, there is much I want to do but can't. 

Last night, the band that my hubby works for played out.  I had to stay home.  Tomorrow, a local band that I really like, and don't get to see often is playing at the Field days.  I probably won't be able to go.  This past week has been the Boxing Hall of Fame Festivities.  There is always a huge parade on Sunday with dozens of boxers and thousands lining the streets.  I don't think I will be able to go unless we can get the van somewhere that I can sit in it and still see.  Hmm.....somehow I don't think that will be possible. 

 

Here's to hoping I feel much better by next weekend as I have a wedding to go to on Friday, my daughter's baby shower on Saturday and a birthday party on Sunday. 

The Perfect Etsy Team

 

 

Isn't it the wish of every team captain to have THE best team?  What would be the perfect team? Here are my thoughts:   First,  would be to have every member be active.  Second,  would be to have a thread for every topic. Third, would be to have strong leaders.   I don't think the quantity of members matter so much as the quality of members.  What is the sense in having hundreds or thousands of members if only 5 or 10 are active?  What is the sense in joining a team if you are not going to use it to your advantage? 

A perfect team would have something to offer everyone.  Example, mentors,  contests, sweepstakes, threads for every topic, promotions,  just to name a few. 

 

What are your thoughts on the perfect team?

A Mixture of Emotions

 

Didn't sleep well last night, up before dawn.  Today I have my gall bladder removed.  I have been on an emotional rollercoaster the last few weeks. 

 

It actually started about 3 weeks ago.  I was supposed to have some teeth surgically removed.  I went to my appointment and they hooked me up to do my blood pressure.  They ended up doing about 6 readings because none were under 200/130.  Needless to say, they did not pull my teeth and told me to call my doctor.  This was on a Friday.  I called my doctor and went to see him Monday.  He immediately sent me to the E.R. where they did some tests, gave me some meds and kept me for 6 hours.  Apparently, they didn't find anything in the tests because I never got a phone call.  so, as of right now, we have no idea of what is causing my blood pressure to be so high.  I have a follow up with my Dr. on the 15th.

 

This past week, I have been super nervous about my blood pressure.  Not sure if the medicine is working.  Also a little nervous about the surgery and feeling a little guilty because they scheduled it the day before my daughter's baby shower which I will not be able to attend now.  I would have had them do it another time but that would have meant waiting another month and I have been dealing with this since Christmas.  Needless to say, I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.

 

 



Upcoming Events

 

 

This week is going to be spent getting the house ready and food made for our Memorial Day party.

 

On May 31 I will be having my gall bladder removed so my Etsy shops will be in vacation mode for a while. I will not be able to lift or be on my feet for long periods of time.  On June 1st is my daughters baby shower.  One June 15 is my other daughters baby shower.  Then there is Father's Day.  I am so glad that after 5 years in a row, we have no children graduating.

I wanted to let you all know that I am very sorry for not being here as of late. I have been sick and had a huge order to fulfill. I also have 2 baby showers to plan and a Memorial Day party to plan. To top that all off, my kitchen is being remodeled. I am also going to be opening my photography shop on Etsy soon. I hope to be on a little more now.
